What to Expect
Chiropractic care is like planning the vegetable garden; certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for a fruitful harvest. The size of garden, best location, testing the soil and matching the plants to the soil’s test results, and plant selection are all very crucial to a successful garden. Planting the wrong crops in the wrong place can drastically reduce crops and in some cases attract pests or initiate plant diseases. Every gardener knows the secret to a great garden is making good organic soil. You will need to add compost and manure to soil in order to have large nutritious plants. The same is true for your body; you need to have nutritious food, sunlight, quality water, exercise, and minimal stress, to have optimal health. Your body has to go through a specific plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care.
If you are in pain I want to make you feel better. My main goal is to ease your symptoms. Most people are under the assumption that if they don’t feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them – that they are healthy. However, pain is a very poor indicator of health. Pain and other symptoms often only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced. For example tooth cavity, heart disease, diabetes, stress or problems with the spine, pain is usually the last thing to appear. When you began my care pain usually is first symptom to disappear even though cause of your disease remains but to lesser degree. Thus, depending on the severity of your problem, you may need care 2-3 times per week for 2-10 weeks.
Corrective care is to prevent a rapid recurrence of symptoms, it is necessary to continue getting care even though your symptoms are gone.Through this phase, body is allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. Depending on your individual situations, I will advise you to begin doing exercises and stretches at home to help accelerate your healing. It is typical to need care 1-2 times per month for 6-12 months, contingent on your overall health and the severity of your problem.
Maintenance is Key to Healthy Living, when your body has maximally healed, it is vital to come in for periodic adjustments to avoid problems in the future. Just like in gardening you have to take care of your plants through the whole season, everyone needs to continue chiropractic care to ensure the health of your body. Usually, maintenance visit to the chiropractor is 1 times per month, which is based on your lifestyle, external environment, and original problem.
